Photographed at the Race of Champions, Brands Hatch, 22nd March 1970, this image captures Sir Jackie Stewart (b. 1939) - the reigning Formula One World Champion - in the cockpit of his March 701-Cosworth, his gaze calm and focused, the crowd pressing in behind him.
What makes this photograph particularly remarkable is its timing. Stewart qualified on pole position that day and went on to win the race — this is the image of a champion at the height of his powers, moments before or after one of the defining performances of that season. Shot head-on, down the full length of the car, this is one of the most commanding portraits in the collection.
Each made to order print is produced using archival giclée printing on Canson Baryta gloss paper - a premium fine art paper favoured by professional photographers for its exceptional detail, rich tonal range, and long-lasting colour. Your print arrives with a certificate of authenticity, personally included with every order.
